After the successful 2025 season, the Indiana Fever is once again assembling a team for the championship. While they can’t add players due to an incomplete CBA deal, the side added Rob Dosier as its assistant coach. Caitlin Clark also endorsed Dosier’s appointment. Now their former champion, Tamika Catchings, is also joining the Indiana Fever team.
The player led the team to its first and only WNBA championship so far. She will rejoin the franchise as the ambassador. The player expressed her excitement.

Tamika Catchings To Rejoin Indiana Fever
On Tuesday, the Pacers’ Sports and Entertainment CEO, Mel Rains, called the former Fever star a model of basketball excellence, leadership, and community commitment in Indiana. Lauding her impact, the organization added her to a newly created role as an ambassador, supporting the company’s business, community, and basketball initiatives.
Upon joining the organization, Catchings said, “Indiana has been my home since I was drafted by the Indiana Fever, and Pacers Sports & Entertainment played such an important role in my life and my journey. I’m thrilled to step into this new ambassador role.”

The player had been keeping a close eye on the Fever team’s progress in the 2025 season and endorsed Kelsey Mitchell for MVP and All-WNBA team honors.

After retirement, Catchings also hosted youth basketball camps and clinics in her community, leading a foundation she created that has awarded $1 million in scholarships, and worked as a sports commentator and entrepreneur.

Considering her accomplishments and service to the sport, the NCAA awarded Catchings the Silver Anniversary Award. She will receive the honor at the 2026 NCAA Convention alongside other Honors recipients. The Silver Anniversary Award honors the achievements and contributions of players who excelled in their professional lives and continue to exemplify the values of collegiate athletics.
