Even though Caitlin Clark graduated from the Iowa Hawkeye program and is making strides in the WNBA, her connection with the program will never fade. Leading the team to three conference titles and two NCAA finals, the player earned a legendary status in Iowa’s history.
While the player still follows her Hawkeyes games, she regularly shares her opinions on social media and also talks with the coach about them, as Jan Jansen mentioned Clark’s praising texts over Iowa’s hidden gem Chazadi Wright.
Now another Iowa Hawkeye standout is looking to get the attention of the Fever playmaker and hopes that her shoes will do the trick.

Taylor Stermlow Loves Caitlin Clark Kobe 5 PE
The Iowa Hawkeyes’ sophomore guard is slowly developing into a dependable playmaker after taking a huge leap from her rookie season. Averaging over eight points, four assists, and a steal per game, the player improved on her shooting and playmaking. In the recent win against Illinois, the player contributed heavily at the Gainbridge Arena.
While the win at the Fever’s home court put them in the next round of the Big 10 tournament, it had special meaning for the player who was in Caitlin Clark’s Kobe 5 PEs. When asked about it, she said, “No, I brought two pairs. I brought some white ones, and then they were like, We’re wearing the white jerseys today. I’m like, That would be way too much white. Then I broke out the Caitlins. They are my favorite, the Kobes. Kobes are my go-to.”

The player added that she has not spoken with the megastar and hopes that she will watch the game and the shoes, too. Incidentally, CC keeps tabs on Hawkeyes games and even reacted to the referee’s technical foul call on Stermlow.
The Fever star even takes note of achievements and accolades for the Iowa players and staff, too.
Caitlin Clark Hypes Up Iowa Coach
Jan Jensen coached the player for four seasons as an assistant coach to Lisa Bluder. While the coach and player left the program at the same time, Jansen remained with the Hawkeyes, taking charge of the program.
In her first season, the coach posted a 21-5 record, and in her second season, the Hawkeyes had already surpassed that mark, with a 25-5 record in the season. With that, Jensen became the first Hawkeye coach to record 20+ wins in the first two seasons. The 24-year-old defined the achievement in just one word: “Aura.”

While Jansen doesn’t have a player of Clark’s quality on the roster, she certainly has the backing of the 2024 WNBA rookie and also a talented roster to make a deep run in the NCAAW competition.
