With the WNBA Draft announced for the 2026 season, the teams have already started to prepare themselves for some significant acquisitions. As most of the big names enter unrestricted free agency, franchises now have innumerable possibilities for shaping their squads.
With some impeccable talents coming up from the NCAA this year, the likes of Azzi Fudd, Olivia Miles, and others will surely take the draft by storm. However, apart from this, the unrestricted free agency, too, might just have some of the most exciting pairings in the history of the WNBA. Here are three of the dream matchups that will make the fans go crazy.

3. Paige Bueckers & Napheesa Collier
Bueckers has already established herself as one of the biggest names in the league. Playing in her rookie year, the 23-year-old star clinched the Rookie of the Year award with some impressive performances. Playing for Team USA, too, the Dallas Wings’ star had a fine outing. Now, as the Wings would like to make a solid run this time, one dream pairing they can think of is Collier.

While establishing herself as a legend, the Minnesota Lynx star needs no introduction. Her duo with Bueckers will be a live nightmare for the opponents. Coupled with Bueckers’ offensive surge, Collier will bring in stability with her impressive rebounding skills and defensive strength.
2. Caitlin Clark & Sabrina Ionescu

The Indiana Fever did not have most of its star players last year. Yet, the team was brave enough to put up a gritty showing to advance to the semifinals. Now, with Clark all fit and fine, the chances of Fever are looking bright as ever. But if they can manage to rope in Sabrina Ionescu, it might as well seal the deal for Stephanie White’s side.
There’s no telling about Clark’s prowess. And as Ionescu already led the New York Liberty to a championship run back in 2024, the partnership will be a deadly affair for the opponents. As both the stars have a knack for nailing long rangers with pick-and-rolls, the pair looks destined to do some great things together if given a chance.
1. Breanna Stewart & A’ja Wilson

If Wilson’s impeccable form was not enough, the team can try to amp it up further by adding Stewart into the mix. Now, there’s nothing much to say about the stars. Both Stewart and Wilson are WNBA MVPs. They have also won the finals MVP previously. Dominating the game in almost every game they played, the pairing might be the greatest WNBA duo if things actually pan out accordingly.
However, these pairings are just speculations. None of the teams has spoken about who they want to rope in from free agency. Thus, for the fans, the only option is to wait and watch.
