Caitlin Clark delivered some sombre news for the WNBA fans. While a large chunk of the mass was waiting for Clark to get back to action, the Fever star announced that she is not coming back until the next season. Nonetheless, the 23-year-old did try to be jovial. Clark had a cheerful message for the Indiana Fever fans amidst her injury. And in a hilarious turn of events, Tyrese Haliburton further lightened the mood.
It is a well-known fact that Clark played her college basketball for the Iowa Hawkeyes. And while their biggest rival has been the Cyclones, Haliburton found a family tie and trolled the 2024 rookie for the same.
Tyrese Haliburton Makes Caitlin Clark Choose Over Cyclones And Hawkeyes
Well, as the Fever star made her no.22 jersey iconic at the Hawkeyes, there is a fun trivia that a lot of fans do not know. Clark’s brother, Blake, played as a backup quarterback in his college days. And guess which team he was donning the jersey of? Well, it was none other than the Cyclones. And using the information, Haliburton recently chimed in with a lighthearted banter with the Fever’s rookie star.

While promoting FOX Sports’ content, the NBA icon became curious about who Clark would support between the Hawkeyes and the Cyclones.
“What’s up, y’all? It’s Tyrese Haliburton here in Ames, at Big Noon Kickoff. You know who I’m rocking with. I’m rocking with the Cyclones, of course. But I’m wondering who [Caitlin Clark] is rocking with? Since her brother played football here. Who knows who she is going for? I know I’m going with the ‘Clones. Go ‘Clones,” said Haliburton.

Well, for the uninitiated, the Indiana Fever’s frontline star has a pretty friendly equation with the NBA All-Star. Now, coming back to the 23-year-old’s injury, Clark’s unavailability drew some bold WNBA criticism from Jason Whitlock. As it was evident that Whitlock was pretty upset, Stephanie White provided a detailed analysis of the saddening decision.
Stephanie White Details Caitlin Clark’s Injury Decision
Clark is undoubtedly the heart of the WNBA. It was due to her impeccable play last year that the league started to bloom. Unfortunately, with injuries plaguing her current season, the league too, has suffered. According to FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd, the Fever star’s absence saw a sharp dip in the viewership this year. However, despite a lot of negatives, Stephanie White recently detailed why it was necessary for Clark to take time off.

“We knew that West Coast road trip was going to be a big one, to see where we could get, and how far we could get. And I think at the end of the day, she’s been working her b**t off to be able to get back, and we’ve kind of run out of time to be able to do it in a safe way, in a safe manner,” White said.
White also added that the management chose Clark’s long-term health over anything else. Thus, with the wait getting prolonged, fans are eagerly waiting to catch their favorite star live in the upcoming season.
