Veronica Burton had an impressive first season with the Golden State Valkyries. The young guard, fresh off a breakout 2025 WNBA season, was one of the highlights this year.
However, while we are well into the offseason, her debut in the 3v3 league could very well kick off the Valkyries’ free agency recruitment.
After earning the WNBA Most Improved Player honors, Burton is heading to another exciting chapter of her basketball career.
Veronica Burton’s Unrivaled Debut Could Push Valkyries’ Free Agency
Just after a short yet successful season for the Bay Area team, Burton’s recent draft to Mist BC for Unrivaled’s second season places her in a hub of 48 WNBA talents.

With the Valkyries holding just three players under contract, herself, Kate Martin, and Carla Leite, the expansion team’s playoff pedigree from year one gives Burton leverage to recruit.

However, in her debut, she dished 4 assists in 12 minutes, crediting Stewart’s spacing for her clean looks, though a turnover on a rushed pass nagged her.
