Caitlin Clark is the face of the Indiana Fever, but some believe she’s the face of the WNBA itself. Clarke has a huge fan following, and with fame comes hate. It’s safe to say that she has mixed reactions from fans. Yet, many believe she was highly favored to make it big in the league.
Angel Reese was one of those players who thought the league’s popularity was not built on Clark’s fame. Reese claimed that she played an equal part in bringing fame to the WNBA. While she made her statement a year ago, a veteran columnist recently took a shot at Reese.
Christine Brennan Backs Caitlin Clark By Disagreeing With Angel Reese
Christine Brennan of USA Today snubbed Angel Reese’s statement by saying she does not move the needle. While she did appreciate her skill for rebounds, Brennan said the TV viewership was not about Reese at all, and it was all about Clark.

“The TV viewership is all about Caitlin Clark, not Angel and Caitlin. Just Caitlin,” Brennan said. “I think Angel is a great rebounder and excellent at what she does, but she doesn’t move the needle when it comes to ratings. Caitlin does.” (Via YouTube)

Christine Brennan Says DeWanna Bonner Fled The Indiana Fever Due To Caitlin Clark

It’s clear that Brennan is one of Clark’s biggest supporters. Former Indiana Fever shooting guard DeWanna Bonner parted ways with the team. While her departure shocked many, Brennan gave her take on the situation. Once again, she backed Clark, stating that Bonner fled the team because she was unable to handle Clark’s fame.
“In talking to a source or two, it appears that Bonner was unable to, in some way, shape, or form, just deal with that spotlight, which is white hot,” Brennan said on the radio show. “Bonner couldn’t handle it, or didn’t want it, or was getting to her.”

It’s a bold claim by the journalist, and this time, fans were unhappy with her words. Brennan further mentioned that Caitlin Clark’s superstardom was just too much for Bonner.
