Fans are ready for some spicy action, and the Dallas Wings bring in all the spice. With the trade deadline approaching, their forward DiJonai Carrington is one of the trade pieces who could be on the move. The former Sun player signed at the start of the 2025 season, and midway through the season, she is already on the move.
While the team prepares for the upcoming games, Coach Chris Koclanes faced questions about trade rumors. The first-time coach attended a press conference, where he answered questions about the possibilities and the team’s focus.
Chris Konclanes Opens Up About DiJonai Carrington Trade Buzz
The Dallas Wings, 11th in the league standings, are currently pushing for a playoff berth. The side missed the postseason last season, but with the addition of Paige Bueckers, the side saw the possibility of making it to the last eight. Yet, 21 losses put them in a difficult position.
Amid all this, their star forward is in the trade discussions. ESPN first mentioned her name in the trade discussions, and now head coach Chris Konclanes clarifies the team’s stance.
“That’s pro sports. We are trying to keep the locker room together and keep that team tight. And day to day go about our business and focus on task at hand,” HC told reporters. (Via X/@JahlilWill)

Along with her, veteran guard Arike Ogunbowale was also seen as a trade prospect by many pundits. This puts the Texas franchise in the sellers’ market. If the side trades either of their veteran stars, it will indicate they are looking for another rebuild roster in 2026.
DiJonai Carrington’s Possible Trade Destinations
Even though her time at the Dallas Wings saw some downfall in her performance and market value, many teams could still use her experience and defensive prowess to strengthen their squads. A return to the Connecticut Sun is on the cards. The side could possibly use her as a centerpiece for the upcoming season. Nneka Ogwumike could benefit from the addition of a defensive star. It will allow her to be more explosive on the offensive end.

One more team that could add a four-year veteran is the Golden State Valkyries. The young side lost its flow after a surprising start and could use an experienced star in rotation to help it win close games. She is also handy at the offensive end, making her a useful player for any franchise. The Minnesota Lynx could also use her after a recent injury raises concerns over the availability of Napheesa Collier.
