Caitlin Clark has been one of the biggest X-factors for the league. With the star guard missing the entire season this year, both the Indiana Fever and the league faced a lot of problems. Clark recently shared an emotional confession about her playoff absence, but that did not stop the concerns from seeping in. With the Fever star not playing, the WNBA is afraid that the playoff ratings will drop drastically. Thankfully, a WNBA analyst thinks otherwise.
According to stats provided by ESPN, last year’s playoffs received one of the biggest ratings due to Clark. But as per a renowned analyst, that would not make a lot of difference as the Fever were only around for two games last year.
Ice Young Gets Candid About Caitlin Clark’s Impact On 2025 Playoffs
Ice Young recently appeared on the latest episode of the ‘Hoops 360’ podcast. Speaking about the impact of Clark’s absence, she stated that the ratings might not witness a massive fall this year. Explaining her point, Young stated that Clark and Fever only played two games last year before bowing out of the playoffs.

“I’ll play devil’s advocate. If you were tuning in last year for Caitlin Clark in the playoffs, you only saw two games. If you were going to tune in this year, what did we just talk about? They’d have to steal one game in order to get to the next round. You may only see two games,” said Young.
Thus, a similar situation might arise this year too. In all probability, Fever will be locking horns with the Atlanta Dream. And looking at both the team’s regular-season stats, Indiana might be knocked out again in the first round. Thus, Young is pretty confident that the viewers will not cease to tune in just because Clark is not there. Meanwhile, predicting for the next season, Gilbert Arenas came up with a wild Angel Reese theory that included Clark.

Gilbert Arenas Wants Angel Reese And Caitlin Clark On The Same Team
The Chicago Sky has been dealing with a lot this season. And after their season was plagued with injuries and poor performances, it was Angel Reese’s comments that put them further into a spot of bother. Sky recently issued a statement announcing Reese’s suspension. Her harsh criticism of her teammates did not sit well with the management. Reese also pointed out that if quality players are not added, she might leave Sky. All such narratives have fueled rumors about the Sky front office looking to part ways with the Chi-town Barbie.

Commenting on the matter, Arenas came up with a surprising solution. He stated that if Reese does become a free agent, then the Fever must try to rope her in to pair her with Clark. “If I’m the Indiana Fever, I’m making a push for Angel. CC and Angel??? I’m selling out everything I’m selling!!”
Arenas wrote on his Threads account. Surely, this does look like quite an impossible prospect. But fans will need to wait and watch if such a scenario does come true.
