Caitlin Clark has emerged not only as a prominent WNBA star but also as a well-known athlete overall. While her basketball skills on the hardwood are impeccable, she draws a significant amount of fan following alongside her.
Now, one of the reasons why she is so successful is her competitiveness on the court. Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White recently termed Clark’s zeal to succeed as ‘psycho.’
However, considering how Clark is pushing forward, it does not appear that her fame quotient is going to drop anytime soon. Surprisingly, it was recently revealed that Clark had a stupendous popularity since her NCAA days, so much so that she surpassed college football, too!

WNBA Analyst Surprised At Caitlin Clark’s Popularity Soaring Over College Football
It is not a secret that the NCAA football realm is one of the most viewed college sports. After all, it is from here that NFL stars of tomorrow emerge. Thus, a lot of eyes remain fixated on college football.
Recently, a graphical representation of the most viewed college football games was released. And at number 1, it was the Ohio State against Michigan that garnered the most eyeballs on TV. The TV viewership rating for this particular game stood at 18.4 million. But surprisingly, that number was easily surpassed by Clark during her final NCAA game.
As per WNBA analyst Christine Brennan, Clark had a whopping 18.9 million people watching her on television. “College FB is huge. Look at these numbers. Then consider that Caitlin Clark drew 18.9M for her final NCAA game. No wonder she is the biggest thing to hit the WNBA, why shows constantly talk about her, why even a book could be written about all of it,” wrote Brennan.

Certainly, this number is a stark indication of how significant Clark’s influence is. And while there are some negative narratives going around, UCLA coach Cori Close had strong words for her haters.
Cori Close Hits Back At Caitlin Clark Haters
Despite the WNBA experiencing significant growth, Clark has faced considerable criticism. Recently, in an appearance with Stephen A. Smith, Close was asked about her opinions on Clark.

“I actually had the opportunity to coach Caitlin Clark in USA basketball. Even back then, she had a charisma about her that’s infectious around everyone she comes in contact with. The reality is Caitlin has risen a level of fanbase that has broadened it that we are all benefitting from,” said Close.
