Caitlin Clark has been vigorously concentrating on her recovery. Owing to her frustrating groin injury, the star prospect was unable to play in the WNBA last year. But now that she has reportedly attained 100% fit, a lot is being expected from the Indiana Fever star. Recently, Victor Wembanyama declared Clark as the most impressive college player.
Thus, with such a high pedigree, the 23-year-old is being hyped a lot in the upcoming season. And owing to her incredible skill set, the Fever star has been called up to the Team USA squad, too. However, according to a recent report, Clark might just be declining an invitation to the 2026 FIBA World Cup.

Caitlin Clark To Skip The FIBA World Cup 2026?
In a recent interaction with Bleacher Report, WNBA analyst Jordan Robinson had some interesting predictions for the upcoming 2026 season. And speaking about Clark, Robinson predicted that she might just be prioritizing her stint with Indiana Fever more than the FIBA World Cup.
“My prediction is that Caitlin Clark makes the 2026 World Cup roster, of course. But the timing of that, around September, playoffs are about to start, Indiana could be making a run for the Finals, because they got close this past year. I could see her saying, ‘Okay, cool. I make the World Cup roster, which probably means I’m going to make the Olympic roster.’ I’m just gonna sit this one out because I want to bring a championship to the Fever,” Robinson stated.
Now then, this was surely a very bold take from Robinson. After all, aside from the fact that Clark does want to excel in the WNBA, she also values her national duties. In fact, the Fever star recently stated how much she wants to play for Team USA.

Caitlin Clark Makes Intentions Clear For Her Team USA Stint
Looking at Clark’s previous interviews, it appears that Robinson might have just missed a very important detail. Back on December 31 last year, Clark came in on the ‘New Heights’ podcast. And there, she made herself clear how important the FIBA World Cup was for her.

“So hopefully I’m on the team for that. And my goal is to be on the Olympic team for 2028. It feels like it’s far away, but it’s probably way closer than it sounds,” said Clark.
Now then, with things looking interesting, fans cannot wait to see what happens next.
