The WNBA players now have a very long off-season, though many of them are already in action in the Unrivalled, Euro League, Chinese League, and now the Athletes United league. They will have to wait for an update on the WNBA season. Players like Paige Bueckers, Caitlin Clark, and Angel Reese just started their careers in ‘W,’ and fans want to see them in action more often now.
While Bueckers’ Rookie of the Year Award adds a rare feat to UConn history, the player is looking to make an even bigger impact in the upcoming season. And as per a WNBA analyst, it won’t take much time to see her at the top.

Analyst Makes Bold Prediction About Paige Bueckers
Even though the 2026 season has all the dark clouds over it, there are many predictions already floating around the season. While the WNBA draft predictions are changing as the college season progresses, there are many predictions about the current players in the league.
Ben Pickman has been following and reporting on the WNBA for a long time, and he saw immense competition in the upcoming season. While he didn’t predict the champion, he mentioned Paige Bueckers would win the MVP award, making her the most impactful player in the league.

In his prediction, he mentioned that A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart ruled the accolade long enough, with Collier earning the silver medal place in the back-to-back season. As per Pickman, the 2026 year would belong to Caitlin Clark and Bueckers, with both players competing for the MVP award too. He sided with Bueckers in the end.

Though the player has backing from Pickman, she will definitely have tough competition from mega stars like A’ja Wilson, Napheesa Collier, and Breanna Stewart, who impact the game on both ends of the floor. But the player is already working on her game ahead of the 2026 season.
Paige Bueckers Working on Improvements In Her Game
Early in the 2025 season, Bueckers mentioned how she is remaining focused amid the chaos around her. And now, the player is currently making news in the Unrivaled league with her exciting and efficient gameplay. The way she played in the 3-on-3 games before, the leave at the Unrivaled league is very different, and the player is adjusting to it. After the first win, she mentioned the changes she is working on in her game.
“I wanna work on my left hand more, and I wanna get to the free throw line more,” Bueckers said. “So lowkey like, a little foul bait. But also, I wanna get the bump, the Shai (Gilgeous-Alexander) shoulder bump into my midrange pull-up.”

Earning foul and improving on her left-hand handles would be a great addition to her offensive arsenal. This would not only make her a more effective scorer on the floor but also increase her chances of winning the MVP award, as Pickman predicted.
