After months of threats of work stoppages, the WNBA board of governors finally approved the CBA agreement. As a result, the 30th WNBA season will start on the scheduled date. As teams look to put their best foot forward, the league is working to enhance crowd engagement and the overall experience of women’s basketball.
In recent times, the W has faced significant pressure. With Unrivaled already surging in popularity, Saudi-backed Project B put the WNBA under massive pressure. Thankfully, looking to turn the tables, the tournament dropped an announcement about their latest partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

How Does The WNBA-AWS Partnership Impact Overall Experience?
The multi-year partnership aims to improve fan engagement while introducing technological innovations. According to the announcement, AWS is now the league’s Official Cloud and Cloud AI partner. Detailing the initiative further, the mainstay of the partnership will be the introduction of ‘WNBA Inside the Game.’
With the help of this advanced statistics platform, fans are expected to consume more data and in-game analysis to further intrigue. Powered by AWS’ AI tools, the platform will provide real-time athlete data in a format easier for fans to understand. This latest addition to the league can be accessed on the WNBA app and on WNBA.com.
