The WNBA 2026 will enter a new era, expanding to 15 teams, and the new CBA will also empower players to deliver at the highest level. While the improved salary values are currently making the headlines, from A’ja Wilson’s mega supermax contract salary to Azzi Fudd’s lucrative rookie contract, earning Fudd a staggering $500K in her first season, the aim is to have a better game experience for fans and players.

WNBA App Update With ID Personalization
Cathy Engelbert was excited with the CBA announcement, calling it an historic moment for the league and players. While the CBA confirmation got many other pending projects moving, the league also worked on improving the fan experience on its app, which is one of the WNBA’s revenue sources.
An upgraded WNBA App is launching on Friday, featuring WNBA ID, a free global account that personalizes the fan experience. The app will provide live streaming of WNBA League Pass games and real-time content. WNBA ID connects users with WNBA.com and the app, allowing them to choose favorite teams, follow players, and get personalized updates.

WNBA Going Global Within Two Years
The WNBA’s current growth prompted the massive CBA valuations, while players played their role in attracting the fanbase, and some players’ popularity hinted at an opportunity for the league to go global. Players like Angel Reese, Sabrina Ionescu, and A’ja Wilson made a world tour with their signature sneakers. Reese signed a partnership for Reebok with the WNBL, making a bold statement in the league.
Impressed by the league’s reach and popularity, the league commissioner spoke highly of its growth and shared plans to play in other countries.
