The WNBA is getting quite harsh. At least in terms of physicality on the hardwood. As the Dallas Wings faced off against the Las Vegas Aces, the resultant game was a cracker. As the Aces aced the game 106-80, there were some key moments in the game. And despite the Wings failing to capitalize, there were instances from where they can improve in the future.
Meanwhile, within the game, there was yet another interesting matchup going on. It was Dijonai Carrington going neck and neck against her partner, NaLyssa Smith. And despite being real-life couples, the duo did not spare each other on the field. And online.
Dijonai Carrington And NaLyssa Smith Go Off On Each Other
Smith and Carrington were part of the same team, the Dallas Wings initially. However, the duo got separated recently as Smith was traded to the Aces. And during the game, the competitive spirits were on full display. As the duo made several physical altercations, one at the free-throw line particularly caught the eye. And immediately, both Carrington and Smith went off on a hilarious rant against each other.
One of the fan accounts on X, formerly known as Twitter, pointed out how the duo were playing block for blocks. Spotting the tweet, Smith wrote on her account, “**foul for block.” Spotting the reply, Carrington lashed out at her partner, denying the claims. She wrote, “I didn’t even foul you. Plsssss.”

This back and forth surely added a touch of humor to the game. Meanwhile, coming back to the game, the Wings did have some moments that they could take forward. Touted as the main threat, A’ja Wilson was restricted to only 14 points. Now, then, with that being said, a shocking revelation came to the forefront about the Nalyssa Smith trade.

Nalyssa Smith could not believe the fact that she would have to leave the Wings. Expressing her shock, Smith pointed out that she did not see it coming. However, a WNBA insider stated that the real reason for the trade was something entirely different.

“(Smith) may win a championship with Vegas,” the source told ClutchPoints. “She is championship caliber… But Dallas is rebuilding and 2027 first round will be a historic help for our rebuild.”
Thus, with things looking a bit rocky, fans will now be eager to see how the duo fares in the future.
