The 2025 WNBA season ended without giving much to the Chicago Sky in terms of wins.
Despite the team’s not-so-impressive showing this year, Angel Reese reached new heights with her soaring fame outside of the basketball court.
She kicked off her podcast last year and has been on a roll ever since. Though some internet fans accused Reese of buying bot views on her channel, there is no end to her pain.
Angel Reese Accused Of Racial Preference On Unapologetically Angel Podcast
Recently, the Sky forward and podcaster is facing backlash from some WNBA fans who accuse her of racial bias due to the guest lineup on her ‘Unapologetically Angel’ podcast.

The controversy stems from social media observations that all identified guests are Black, sparking debates about intent and representation.

A tweet by @anthonygarza27 ignited the controversy, sharing a screenshot analyzing Reese’s podcast guests.
Titled Unapologetically Angel (not “Angel Reese podcast” or “The Grace”), it lists Common, DiJonai Carrington, Sheryl Swoopes, Chrisean Rock, Michael Rainey Jr., and Monique Billings.
All of the names are of African American descent based on publicly available information. The post notes no White guests appear among the named individuals.
While there has not been any response from Reese or her team on the matter, this controversy could very well be flagged as a propaganda tweet, as it lacks credibility.
Many fans on the internet argue that Reese has mostly white people in her team and that, in itself, speaks for the baselessness of the claim.
Angel Reese Gearing Up For Big Screen Debut
While social media has been set off on her, Actor Miguel A. Nunez Jr., star of Juwanna Mann, hopes to cast Reese and Caitlin Clark in the sequel, currently in production with Lionsgate.
He praised their star power, saying, “I love her. I love Angel Reese. I’d beat [Clark on the court] … and I’d marry Angel Reese [in the film],” envisioning cameos with Steph Curry. While Clark lacks acting experience beyond commercials, Reese debuted in Kathryn Bigelow’s ‘A House of Dynamite’, boosting her Hollywood cred.
The original 2002 film, about a suspended male player joining a women’s league, faced criticism for its portrayal (4.7/10 on IMDb, 9% on Rotten Tomatoes), but Nunez Jr. calls it “before its time.”
