The CBA talks reached from the round table to every house with a 17-month process showing very little progress towards its completion. The WNBA and the WNBPA have interests in the deal, while fans want to see the season underway under fair terms. The players’ association recently sent a counterproposal for the league’s offering and even lowered their revenue-sharing demand to 26%.
Although it is a positive sign to see things getting moving, fans are more concerned about the WNBA’s salary cap offer.

Fans Criticize WNBA’s Salary Cap Decision
The WNBA is looking to close out the deal before March 10, allowing them to have an expansion draft, WNBA draft, and free agency signings in time, before the season start date. While they set a deadline, they didn’t act on their revenue-sharing offer.
PA demanded a 27.5% revenue-sharing model and a salary cap of up to $9.5 million. The league, though, offered nearly half of those expectations, putting the salary cap below $6 million.
Updates from WNBA's latest CBA offer, per @DougFeinberg:
— Underdog WNBA (@UnderdogWNBA) March 2, 2026
– No changes to revenue sharing model from previous offer
– Salary cap would be $5.75M (increased from $1.5M last year)
– Max salaries would increase by more than $1M in first year; average salary increasing by $420K
-…
With the max salary for a player over $1 million region, the salary cap doesn’t allow the franchises to work with their finances. Fans also criticize the decision.

Along with their discontent over the salary cap and the progress of the discussion, the fans once again stood behind players in the CBA talks. The latest Unrivaled games were a prime example of the same.
WNBA Fans Back Players In CBA Talks
Even though the Unrivaled league has no connection with the WNBA player deals, the 3-on-3 games saw the influence of the same. Earlier, Cameron Brink urged fans to support the PA in the CBA talks. And fans also responded to the plea.
