The Indiana Fever was preparing for the all-important Game 3 of the semifinal series against the Las Vegas Aces. The positive thing about the series was the home advantage to the Fever side in the series, and the fanbase backed them throughout the season. Although Caitlin Clark was absent from the games due to injury, she was always at the Fever games, home and away.
While her absence from the action affected the team’s performance, her presence on the sideline was encouraging. HC Stephanie White named Aliyah Boston the most impacted amid Clark’s absence, but also lauded CC’s support to the team.
Ahead of semifinal Game 3, though, there was a scheduling issue, with the 2024 rookie nearly missing the match-up at home. Fans reacted to this, as Clark chose the Fever game over her personal accomplishment.
Fans React To Caitlin Clark’s High School Hall Of Fame Announcement
Ever since the Iowa star joined the Indiana Fever team, she has been a vital part of the game plan and the franchise’s future. The Franchise veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell even gave Clark her flowers for transforming the Indiana Fever into a playoff contender. She was impacted on both sides of the court. So when Fever is in action and CC is not in a frame, it always felt ‘odd’.

On September 26, the Fever had Game 3 against the Aces in the WNBA semifinal series. With a big game already scheduled, the 23-year-old guard had another event—Dowling Catholic High School Hall of Fame Induction—in line. The time difference between the two events was just 15 minutes, making it hard for the two-time All-Star to attend both.

Since she won’t be attending, who will be accepting this “honor” in her place. Caitlyn probably wouldn’t cancel a dentist appointment if it conflicted with this ceremony.

The fans loved CC’s decision and were heartbroken about the player missing her important event. The Fever head coach also lauded her player for the commitment she shows.
Stephanie White Names Caitlin Clark As The Number 1 Fever Fan
The playmaker’s decision once again highlighted her dedication to her WNBA team. Fever head coach Stephanie White also lauded her star player even when she is out of rotation. Talking to the iHeart Women’s Sports’ “In Case You Missed It with Khristina Williams” podcast, she praised the point guard for her commitment to the team.
“What I’ve absolutely been so proud of her for is her continuing to pour into her teammates. She is the number one cheerleader on the sideline. She continues to be engaged in everything that we do. Talking to her teammates, communicating what she sees to them, communicating what she sees to us, being a cheerleader for them, talking in huddles,” White said.
White added that CC wants to play, but even though she is on the sideline, she tries to make a difference in the games. Well, in the 2026 season, the Fever faithful could be on the floor, looking to make up for the lost time.
