Chicago Sky star Angel Reese recorded her ninth straight double-double in a losing effort to the Minnesota Lynx, 91-78, at Wintrust Arena on Monday. Reese finished with team-highs of 22 points and 10 rebounds and added three assists and a block in another impressive all-around performance.
Despite her remarkable sophomore campaign, the Sky have struggled to pile up the wins. With the loss to the Lynx, they dropped to 7-14. While Reese has been a bright spot for the team, she can also be prone to blunders from time to time.
Fans Blast Angel Reese For Comical Error Against Lynx
In the final minutes of the second quarter versus Minnesota, the 23-year-old Reese was inbounding the ball. She, however, threw a lazy pass to no one. It went straight to Lynx guard Courtney Williams, who fired it to teammate Bridget Carleton. She sank an open three-pointer to cut the Sky’s lead to seven, 46-39.
One fan couldn’t help but mock Reese for the unforgivable blunder, calling the Sky forward “Magic Johnson without the magic.”

It’s not the first time that Reese has been roasted by fans. But as she has mentioned several times, she’s not too bothered by it.
Angel Reese And Sky Fail To Repeat Upset Win Over Lynx
The Sky banked on a strong start and held a two-point lead at halftime over the Lynx. They, however, struggled on offense after the break, scoring just 32 points, as Minnesota doubled down on its defense.
The Sky couldn’t duplicate their feat on Saturday when they shocked the Lynx, 87-81, also at home. Reese had 19 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists, while guard Ariel Atkins led the scoring with 27 markers on 12-of-21 shots.
They will face off against the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday before the WNBA All-Star Game, wherein Reese will suit up for the second straight season. Incidentally, she will play for Team Collier, which is captained by Lynx star Napheesa Collier.
Reese is averaging 13.6 points, a league-leading 12.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.6 steals.
