The WNBA-WNBPA standoff is creating restlessness in the minds of both fans and players, as they are uncertain about the future of the league. While the new franchises and players are ready to enter the league, the situation in the WNBA seems much more volatile than expected.
In the midst of this, the news of Alyssa Thomas joining the Project B league created havoc. On November 11, Project B unveiled yet another mega star signing, as the 33-year-old became the newest addition to the WNBA’s competitor league. Already, fans slammed Nneka Ogwumike for signing with Project B, and now they targeted AT.
Fans Target Alyssa Thomas For Signing With Project B
The WNBA and WNBPA agreed on an extension to find a solution to the new CBA terms. Amid this, the Unrivaled league and a new 5-on-5 league made significant moves to lure the players away from the WNBA.

After Nneka Ogwumike’s signing, Project B now announced the signing of Alyssa Thomas. The six-time All-Star had been a top player in the league and led the Mercury to the 2025 WNBA Finals. During the WNBA offseason, the reigning assists leader in the league will be playing in the Unrivaled league, but interestingly, she even decided to join the new 5-on-5 league Project B.

Alyssa Thomas Receives Praise From Project B’s Chief Basketball Officer
The Phoenix Mercury star was one of the contenders for the MVP award for the last three seasons and made her mark on the league as the top all-around player. While her signing with Project B won’t impact her availability for the WNBA, it will certainly raise the standard of the Project B roster.

As one of the most respected players in the world, she represents the new era of player partnership and global competition that Project B stands for.”
