In a recent interview, Napheesa Collier mentioned that the league is seeing more hate than it used to, and it’s not only for Angel Reese or Caitlin Clark. While fans see the type of physicality on the basketball court, they tend to express their feelings with similar aggression.
The Golden State Valkyries’ star Janelle Salaun received a similar fan response.
The star was ejected from the Aces vs. Valkyries game following a flagrant two foul on Jewell Loyd. The foul and ejection hardly affected the game, as the hosts had a 21-point lead just before halftime. But fans kept receipt of this one, compared it with the fouls on CC.
Fans Slam Jenelle Salaun’s Ejection Comparing It With The Fouls On Caitlin Clark
The Valks faced a tough time cracking the Aces’ defence and scored only 25 points in the first half. The French Forward missed a rebound in the closing moments as Loyd boxed her out. Frustrated by her performance, she shrugged off the Aces’ guard who fell on the court.
The referee in front of the action stopped the play and instantly called a flagrant two foul, resulting in her ejection.
Keen eyed fans took note of the events and reminded the league to be fair with their decisions over other players also, especially the Fever superstar.

Ever since the Iowa star entered the league, she not only faced tougher opponents, but also a physical play, hardly any athlete had experienced. In her first season alone, she drew the most fouls. But fans highlighted the calls that were not called. The star receives love from her fanbase and follows her in every game.
Caitlin Clark Received Harder Fouls
A general consensus in the comments was that the offenders got away with even harder fouls on the 2024 rookie. In the second year, there was also a similar treatment. There were many debates about missed foul calls on the star guard, with some arguing that she’s not receiving the same level of protection or foul calls as other star players.

This has led to frustration from Caitlin Clark, her fans, and her coach, Stephanie White. Sophie Cunningham, the Fever’s 2025 acquisition from the Phoenix Mercury, also dropped a cryptic message highlighting the talks about the 23-year-old superstar and how to target her within the locker rooms.
The physicality and body checking of the star playmaker were on another level, causing tiring wear and tear. It was rather the Fever guard who got a technical foul for arguing with the referees on many occasions. Hopefully, the league and officiating will treat every player equally.
