The WNBA is slowly taking over the NBA courts as many of the ‘W’ stars’ sneakers are making their way into the NBA locker rooms and games. Fans even called Caitlin Clark the face of the NBA after her Nike sneakers set a unique record in the league. Her competitor, Angel Reese, is also not far behind and has recently received a major boost with Stephen Curry’s association with her signature shoe.
However, fans had other ideas about the collaboration, as they reacted to the Sky forward’s name being connected with the four-time NBA champion. A few even thrashed the concept.

Fans React to Stephen Curry Wearing Angel Reese Signature Shoe
After parting ways with Under Armour, Stephen Curry is seen in multiple shoe variables, which do not fall in the Under Armour line. Curry even showed support for the Unrivalled league season 2 with a unique sneaker pair at the start of 2026.
He recently wore Reebok’s most profitable shoe line, the AR1, which is associated with the Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese. A picture of Curry wearing the AR1 went viral on the internet.

Ironically, the Warriors had a poor shooting night against the Thunder, scoring just 94 points. They even lost the game by 37 points, which is their heaviest loss of the season. Fans blamed Reese’s shoe for the same, even though Curry was not even playing in the game.

Even though a few fans made fun of the AR1s, Reebok is certainly benefiting from the attention, and so is the Sky forward. The duo recently came up with a new variant that is available for sale.
Angel Reese’s New Shoe Variant Is Out For Sale
Just at the end of the 2025 season, Reebok launched its first AR1 colorways, with only three main styles: ‘Diamond Dust’, ‘Mebounds’ (pink), and ‘Receipts Ready’ (black/white). While the demand exceeded expectations, Reebok also came up with new editions, such as ‘Charm City’, ‘Tiago’, and now the ‘Midnight Diamond Dust’, to meet fans’ requirements.
Reebok announced the news on social media and wrote, “Angel Reese 1: Midnight Diamond Dust Available on 12/11.”

With the success of earlier variants, Reebok didn’t need any mega marketing strategy for the new launch and is confident about its most profitable shoe line.
