WNBA legend Candace Parker has been on a great run after announcing her retirement from the game last year. As the Missouri-born superstar power forward broke the news, her former teams have been making sure to pay their due respect to her.
Recently, two of her former WNBA teams have announced that they will retire her jersey for her phenomenal time with the franchises. However, this honor comes amid Parker’s major transition from a senior player to being one of the most influential women baller.
Los Angeles Sparks And Chicago Sparks To Honor Candace Parker With Jersey Retirement
According to reports, the Los Angeles Sparks have announced that they will retire Parker’s jersey during their Sunday game against the Chicago Sky. This could be a great recognition from the franchise, as Parker led the team to win the championship in 2016.

Later, the Chicago Sky will retire her No. 3 jersey, making her the second player in WNBA history to have her number retired by two teams. However, she has been carrying major roles since she hung up her sneakers.
“I am doing more now than I have. I used to be able to use basketball as a crutch. Now it’s like, you ain’t going to rest up for nothing. I think this first year of retirement has kind of been my like, What do I want to do more of in this first year? My main priority is being there for my family,” Parker said (Via The AP).
After basketball, Parker has transitioned into notable roles. She’s broadcasting college and pro games and taking the helm as the president of Women’s Basketball at Adidas. Additionally, Parker has also taken on writing, recently publishing her book ‘The Can-Do Mindset.’
