The Las Vegas Aces entered the Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena looking to win the series, but the Indiana Fever had other plans and forced Game 5 with an emphatic win. While the hosts managed to hold their defense against most of the Aces’ stars, A’ja Wilson remained an unguardable player, scoring 31 points in the matchup.
Her former coach, Dawn Staley, named Wilson the greatest WNBA player, and the former champion showed why she is one of the best. Moreover, with her massive performance during the game, she set a unique WNBA record.
A’ja Wilson Scripts History In Game 4 Against The Indiana Fever
Playing heavy minutes in the matchup, the four-time MVP carried the team in all aspects of the game. With over 58% efficiency, she scored 31 points out of 83 and also collected nine rebounds. On the defensive end, she had three steals and three blocks to put pressure on the Fever’s offense.

Her efforts in the Game 4 matchup made WNBA history, per reporter Alexa Philippou. “Players with 30 points, 3 blocks and 3 steals in a game in WNBA postseason history: *A’ja Wilson in 2023. *A’ja Wilson today,” Philippou wrote.
Although her impressive feat couldn’t help the Aces to close down the series, she will be pumped up for Game 5 at home and eager to do more to make it to the WNBA finals for the fourth time in seven seasons.

A’ja Wilson Criticizes Officiating In Game 4
The Indiana Fever had a nervy end to the game, but the 29-year-old Aces’ forward was not happy with the officiating. Coach Becky Hammon also silently supported the forward’s claims.
“I was just looking at the fouls. Lyss had five, Jackie had five, Chelsea had five. That’s very interesting to me.” Wilson said with a sarcastic smile.

While Sophie Cunningham criticized Wilson for not acknowledging the Indiana Fever’s Game 1 performance, the star forward had a special mention for Game 4. During the press conference, the reigning defensive player added that Aliyah Boston said that Wilson gets preferential treatment from referees and pointed out that the Fever forward had 13 free throws in Game 4.
Interestingly, many fans also pointed out similar stats and blasted the officiating in the game. Fever forward Sophie Cunningham strongly responded to those claims, supporting the referees’ decisions.
