Dominant College Career at South Carolina

Aliyah Boston chose to play for head coach Dawn Staley at the University of South Carolina. Her time there turned into one of the most decorated careers in women’s college basketball.

  • 2019–20 (Freshman): Boston made an immediate impact, winning National Freshman of the Year.

  • 2020–21 and 2021–22: She established herself as the best post player in the country. In the 2021–22 season, she averaged 16.8 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, leading South Carolina to the NCAA National Championship. She was named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player.

  • Awards: Boston won the Naismith Player of the Year (2022), Lisa Leslie Award (best center) four straight years, and was a four-time All-American. She also earned National Defensive Player of the Year multiple times.

By the time she graduated in 2023, Boston had cemented herself as one of the greatest players in South Carolina history.
