The Las Vegas Aces lost Game 4 and will now look to close the series at home, just as they did against the Seattle Storm in Round 1. A’ja Wilson had another monstrous game, living up to her record-setting fourth MVP title.
But as much as her gameplay caught many eyes, her one act during the press conference went viral as the forward couldn’t control her laughter listening to an Asian reporter’s accent.
A’ja Wilson Laughs At Asian Reporter’s Accent
The former South Carolina star had a very productive night, even though she couldn’t avoid a defeat in Game 4. Shooting above 56% from the field, she scored 31 points and collected nine rebounds. Her three blocks and steals earned Wilson a Unique WNBA playoff record, proving her unmatched gameplay on the court.

Off the court, though, the serious and competitive player turns into a fun-loving individual as she tries to find fun in most of her surroundings or tries to make the tense situations normal by cracking jokes. In a press conference, the 29-year-old forward had an incident where she couldn’t control her laughter.
The moment came when an Asian reporter started asking a question to HC Becky Hammon. As Wilson was not answering the question, she was relaxed and found the reporter’s accent funny. She started chuckling and held off the laughter. After a while, as Hammon started talking, the Aces player regained her composure and answered the questions.

Wilson seemingly looked at the reporter, then Becky Hammon, before she put her head down to control her laughter and even turned her face away from the cameras to hide her smile.
The superstar had many such press conferences where her reactions or unexpected answers shook many reporters and even her teammates. Chelsea Grey’s reaction went viral when Wilson used an NSFW quote in the interview.
A’ja Wilson Bothered By Officiating In Game 4
Analyzing the game, the reigning MVP sarcastically pointed out that three of the Aces’ starters were on five fouls, limiting them from going hard on defense. Coach Becky Hammon also supported her forward but didn’t comment directly and took an indirect jab.
“I was just looking at the fouls. Lyss had five, Jackie had five, Chelsea had five. That’s very interesting to me,” Wilson said with a sarcastic smile.
Also, Wilson was more concerned about the number of free throws Aliyah Boston had in the game. The Aces’ forward also added that the Fever forward criticized Wilson getting special treatment from the officials, and had 13 free throws on the night.
