The Indiana Fever vs the Las Vegas Aces match-up reached its final game of the season. The series featured many great match-ups, with players from both teams putting their best game on the floor to secure the win. One important and probably the deciding match-up is Aliyah Boston vs A’ja Wilson.
Both players had been game winners for their respective sides as clutch play from Boston powered the Indiana Fever in the semifinal of the 2025 WNBA season, while the Aces’ superstar forward carried the team on her back throughout the season. While their match-up on the court had been very entertaining, the off-court banter is also grabbing attention.
A’ja Wilson Takes Jab At Aliyah Boston’s Comments
Both forwards had been very instrumental around the rim, with bodies colliding and hands on faces, and blocks that energized the crowd from them in nearly every game. After Game 1, Becky Hammon specifically criticized the physicality in the league – hinting at Boston’s hard defense on Wilson.

In the next game, Boston played it safe and avoided commenting on officials, mentioning that ‘it’s none of my business’, although she received multiple fouls in Game 2. Now it was the four-time champion’s turn to take shots at the Fever forward, and she got an opportunity after Game 4.
Addressing the media, the 29-year-old forward singled out AB and said, “Aliyah did say I have a special whistle, and she shot 13 [free throws] today. Yeah. She said it last game, I had a special whistle, which is cool. So you just gotta play better defense, make her looks a little difficult, and kind of go from there.”

The 24-year-old forward netted 10 of those 13 free throws, which proved crucial for the Fever. Moreover, she got seven free throws in the third quarter alone, where the Fever got momentum in the game. In Game 4, both players were effective on the court, with the 2023 Rookie nearly matching the MVP’s numbers.
A’ja Wilson With Record-Setting Game 4 Performance
Despite the loss, it was a memorable game for A’ja Wilson, who set two different records in the league. Her 30+ points, 3+ blocks and 3+ steals performance was only the second time in the league with the former South Carolina star achieving the feat in 2023.
Additionally, Wilson now has 1,022 playoff points in the WNBA, making her only the seventh player to reach this milestone and the third fastest to do so. Breanna Stewart took 46 playoff games, and Diana Taurasi needed 48 games to cross the 1000 points mark. The Las Vegas Aces superstar did so in her 50th game.
Keeping the records apart, the two-time champion will be looking to make it to the finals for the third time in four seasons with a win over the Fever and fellow South Carolina star Aliyah Boston.
