Indiana Fever’s future looks bright. Even though multiple players are out injured, their young core will be available for the next season, with Aliyah Boston, Caitlin Clark, and Mikayla Timpson still on the rookie contract. Two of this trio won the Rookie of the Year awards and are key to the franchise’s future plans.
The Iowa star won many games for the team while Boston power Indiana Fever to the semifinal of the 2025 WNBA playoffs. Interestingly, though, AB didn’t like CC joining the Fever side initially, and she admitted to one small complaint about Clark.
Aliyah Boston’s First Views On Teaming Up With Caitlin Clark
Talking to Sue Bird on the Bird’s Eye View podcast, the 2023 Rookie of the Year winner mentioned that initially, she was not happy having Clark as her teammate. Many fans will be surprised by the former NCAA champion’s claims. But the player was referring to the 2023 NCAA final four game, where the Iowa player scored 41 points and knocked out the undefeated South Carolina team

“I was like, hey, I just want to say, I’m like really upset that you did what you did in that Final Four game. Because we are teammates, but I’m like, you didn’t have to do all that. Like you did not have to go for 40 on our dome. Like girl, we could have just had fun,” Boston said.
“But after that, it was cool because obviously now we’re on the same team, so you don’t worry about that. But I always thought it was funny because I’m like, we just went from competing against each other, you beating us, and now we’re on the same team. It’s like, I was like, girl, it’s OK. I get it. I’m not mad at you for real, but I am,” she concluded on her relationship with CC.

Although this might hint at a possible rift within the locker room, Boston also cleared the air on the locker room drama and mentioned that she focuses on the next game. Next, she will be up against A’ja Wilson’s Las Vegas Aces.
Aliyah Boston To Play Key Role In Semifinal
The WNBA semifinal against the Las Vegas Aces will be a tough challenge for the Indiana Fever. Even though Stephanie White’s team has won two games in a regular season against the former champions, the teams are in different forms. The Aces won 17 of their last 18 games while the Fever struggled to make it into the playoffs till the 43rd game of their season.
On the ‘Show Me Something’ podcast, Sophie Cunningham said that the WNBA will be furious over the Fever making it to the semifinal and also opened up on the possible matchup in the semifinal. As per the veteran forward, AB will play a key role in the game facing A’ja Wilson, who is the best player on the opposing team.
