Dearica Hamby Keeps A Positive Stance Following Los Angeles Sparks’ Playoff Heartbreak
The Los Angeles Sparks did everything they could to secure a playoff berth. Facing off against the Phoenix Mercury in their final regular-season game, the Sparks walked away with an 88-83 victory. Unfortunately, that was enough. That’s because in order for the Sparks to qualify, they also needed the Golden State Valkyries to win against the Seattle Storm. Ending the season with a 22-22 record, the Sparks will look forward to coming back strongly in the next season.

However, Hamby, with her usual positive mindset, was reluctant to bow down. She said, “I came here two years ago and. . .the plan [was] the long term build, and to be a part of it. I want to be here. I feel like we took steps in the right direction. I think it’s a little frustrating, because you look at some of the games, and we were two games away, but I could count on two hands how many games that we gave up. So [I] still [feel] positive though, and [it’s] good momentum for the future.”
Surely, it looks like Hamby will be the star factor again for the Sparks next year. Now, fans will be eager to find out how things pan out in the future.
