Sydney Colson never played a minute in the 2025 WNBA playoffs. Colson’s torn ACL in August ended her season after just 30 games with the Indiana Fever.
Yet the 36-year-old veteran still shaped the team’s run from the sideline, and no one felt that influence more than Aliyah Boston.
On the latest episode of the Post Moves podcast, the Fever forward opened up about how Colson pushed her to lead in ways she hadn’t before.
Aliyah Boston Has High Praise For Sydney Colson
Boston, now in her third pro year, called out Colson’s locker-room impact as the difference between showing up and truly investing. It was the kind of honesty that only comes from someone who has watched a teammate turn injury into opportunity.

Boston didn’t hold back. She told co-host Candace Parker that Colson pulled her aside early in the season and laid it out plain.
According to the Fever forward, Colson “was basically yelling at me and telling me I need to pour into other people and she was completely right.”

Sydney was not wrong, though. She had learnt it on her own after spending over a decade and a half in the league. And Boston was brave enough to channel the real push on the back.
“I just think that just goes to show the type of vet and how important you were to our locker room, especially after you got hurt because that could have been such a moment for you,” she added.
However, the message stuck. Colson kept delivering it even after the injury, showing up to every practice, film session, and road trip with the same energy. And that consistency stood out to Boston.
Sydney Colson Has Positive News For Indiana Fever Fans
While the veteran was all amped up after witnessing heartfelt praise from her teammate, the same episode brought an update Fever fans wanted to hear.
Colson told Parker and Boston her rehab is “ahead of schedule.” Surgery came in August, and trainers now report daily progress in strength and range of motion.

The timeline still points to a full year before full-contact play, but the early gains keep a 2026 return in play.
