The WNBA All-Star selections have been the toughest ones this season. Multiple players are delivering game-winning performances and playing at an optimal level. Every team has at least one All-Star-Caliber player who deserves a place in the mega-game. The Indiana Fever dominated the voting once again, with its three stars earning a place in the game. Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston have already bagged a place in the starting lineup. Now, Kelsey Mitchell joins them from the reserve list.
The talented back-court player is one of six guards named for the All-Star reserves on July 6. Fever forward, Alliyah Boston had just one word, yet it was a fitting reaction to Mitchell’s selection.
Aliyah Boston Sees Kelsey Mitchell As Deserving of All-Star
The Indiana Fever team is the most popular franchise in the WNBA. Every Fever game sets a new viewership and attendance record, highlighting their players’ impact on fans. The WNBA All-Star voting was another prime example of their grip on fans, with Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark making the starting lineup. Another guard, Kelsey Mitchell, booked her place in the mega game as a reserve. And the former South Carolina star was quick to congratulate her teammate.

This is Kelsey Mitchel’s third All-Star selection, also earning a place in the previous two seasons. Along with AB and CC, the former Ohio State guard set a feat of being a trio making back-to-back all-star selections. But her productions this season do support her place in the star-studded game.

Mitchell scored in double digits in every game this season, averaging 19.3 points. She is the second-highest-scoring guard in the league, just behind Kelsey Plum. The efficient scorer has converted over 45% of her attempts, making her one of the league’s most lethal scorers.

The Second overall pick in the 2018 WNBA draft stayed with the franchise during its struggling period and is now seen as a key contributor to the team’s recent success.
Kelsey Mitchell And Aliyah Boston Powering Indiana Fever In Clark’s Absence
The injury to Caitlin Clark was devastating news for Stephanie White. The roster was built around her, and even if it’s talented and deep, CC’s absence makes everything difficult on the offensive end. That’s where Mitchell and Boston produced a 1-2 offensive punch for their team.
The 2023 Rookie of the Year winner forward had been effective in the paint and took over the playmaker role in the absence of her top assist-maker. On the other hand, Kelsey had been a clutch performer in CC’s absence, scoring big baskets against strong defensive teams. The impressive wins include a 15-point victory over the Lynx and a 27-point thrashing of the Aces. Both combined for nearly 40 points, six assists, and 11 rebounds per game in the recent five games. That’s almost half of the Fever’s offensive performance in those matchups.
