The Unrivaled league is bringing out the best from the players on the court, with just three players taking care of the court. The format not only challenged players’ limits but also helped them to improve their skills and showcase their abilities. Aliyah Boston also gets candid about how Unrivaled helped her improve core skills in the WNBA.
Speaking of the ‘W’, the player was not at all happy with her performance in her rookie season as the Fever team finished 10th in the league with a 13-27 record. In a recent interview, she opened up about her feelings at the time.

Aliyah Boston On Getting Upset Over Defeats In Her Rookie Season
On the recent episode of Aari McDonald’s “Unfiltered and Unrivaled” podcast, the former South Carolina star recalled the situation in her rookie season.
“Dude, rookie year? I used to be in the back of the bus, like, just crying,” Boston said. “I was just crying,”

Her Fever teammate and veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell was a co-guest of the show, and commented on the AB’s reactions as she added, “You feel so bad being the vet, like, ‘Welcome, sweetie. We got this.’”

Despite a poor end to the season, the 25-year-old won the rookie of the year accolade with 14.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.3 steals stat line. Aliyah Boston Bettering Her Skills For Upcoming Season
The 2025 season had been very impactful for the forward as she played a very important role in the team’s progress to the semifinals. But entering her final year of the rookie contract, she is looking to go a step ahead and practicing more of range shooting at the Unrivaled sessions.
“I spent the offseason honestly just shooting a lot threes, I know that’s something I want to be able to be ready to do consistently for the Fever, and so that was definitely my mindset and goal going into it,” she said.

Playing for the Phantom BC, the Fever forward has been very effective on the floor. Her defensive stats went up, and so are her offensive numbers.
