The Phantom BC had been a team to beat in season 2 with their new additions, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Plum shining on the floor for them. They even set a record for the first duo to score 30+ points in the same game and led the team to seven consecutive wins to put the Phantom BC in the top spot and semifinal of the competition.
While Boston was looking to take her Unrivaled success and improve her skillsets to make more impact with the Indiana Fever team, recent news is certainly a concerning sign for the WNA team.

With a massive free agency and an important season for the Indiana Fever, Stephanie White and the front office were looking at Cailin Clark and Boston to take a lead. Sadly, the forward took a hit in the final regular-season game against the Rose BC, and the Unrivaled league recently shared concerning news about the same.
As per the update provided on social media, “Aliyah Boston has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to right lower extremity injury.”

Considering Unrivaled’s season ends March 4, ruling Boston out for the season doesn’t give much clarity on the seriousness of her injury. Boston was on the Team USA Basketball roster and had to join the side on March 6 in Miami to prepare for the FIBA World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which runs from March 11-17.

Playing for the Vinyl BC in her debut season, AB had limited gametime, but moving to Phantom BC and combining with Kelsey Plum helped her to be more ‘expressive on the court’ and delivered some impactful performances.
She finished the season with 18.9 points per game and 9.7 rebounds in the season. Taking care on the defensive end, the player led the league with 29 blocks in the season, and for her performances won the defensive player of the year accolade.

Apart from that, the former South Carolina star was also among to All-Unrivaled Second Team selections with Brittney Sykes and Allisha Gray. While after such an impressive season, an injury is clearly very disappointing news for the player and fans, too.
