The Indiana Fever vs. Seattle Storm game had every ingredient to make it a blockbuster: a possible season-defining game, a bit of physicality that kept players from each team out for a while, and records. Kelsey Mitchell overtook Caitlin Clark’s record and became the highest scorer in a season for the Indiana Fever, and Aliyah Boston set a record with 1000 career rebounds.
When coaches announced the news in the locker room, the forward’s reaction to the history she had made was pure gold.
Aliyah Boston Reacts To Franchise Record She Set During Fever vs. Storm Game
The Indiana franchise was up against four-time league champions. Both teams had a tough 2025 season so far and were hanging by a thread to qualify for the playoffs. The winner of the matchup had a slight advantage over the other, giving the fixture at Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena immense importance in the schedule.

Both teams geared up for the win, but the hosts put up a strong performance against the Seattle side and held their noses ahead in every quarter. Whenever the visitors tried to make a comeback, Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell, and Odyssey Sims pushed for an extra mile to hold on to the lead.
In the end, Stephanie White’s team recorded a 95-75 win over the Storm. The 20-point win not only secured them sixth place in the league standings but will also act as a morale booster for the upcoming games. Aliyah Boston led the scorers with 27 points and also grabbed nine rebounds in the game. This put her on the list of players with 1K rebounds, and incidentally, reaching the milestone in 118 games also made her the fastest Fever player to do so.
Though this was an amazing achievement, the player was stunned to hear that she was the quickest in franchise history. The scenes in the locker room were already jubilant with the win, and Aliyah’s reaction cracked up a few players.

While the game against the Storm gave Stephanie White’s side some breathing space for postseason qualification, the side has two tough games coming up against the closest competitors for the playoffs spot—the Los Angeles Sparks and the Golden State Valkyries.
Aliyah Boston Taking On Playmaking Role
The former NCAA champion is one of the most versatile players in the league. She has a knack for setting screens and executing pick-and-roll plays perfectly. She improved on her three-point shooting, making her a threat from any spot on the floor. Now, in the absence of Caitlin Clark and other guards, the forward is sharing playmaking responsibility with Mitchell and Sims.
Among the active Fever players, Boston is leading the side in assists (3.6 average). HC Stephanie White also highlighted that the former USC player possesses good vision and basketball IQ to run the plays for her side. White even hinted at handing the star more responsibility during the injury-laden season. Until now, the 2023 rookie has been excelling in her role, and fans will be eager to see her partner with CC in upcoming games.
