It was an entertaining 7-minute, 19-second faceoff in the Unrivalled final game as Chelsea Gray and Allisha Gray put on a show for the fans. The three-round match ended 2-1 in the Aces’ star’s favor. Though it was the shortest format, it was quite demanding and exhausting for the players.
In the earlier rounds, Chelsea Gray overcame Paige Bueckers, Jackie Youn, and Natasha Cloud, who were tough guard matchups for the veteran star. In the semifinals, she had a tough match-up against Kelsey Plum. As for the Atlanta Dream guard won against Aliyah Boston on the same night.

The three-day event had everything that players and fans wanted to experience. But the finals, with best-of-three series against top opponents, took a heavy toll on players.
Highlighting the same in the post-game interview, Gray said, “I wish we had two timeouts instead of one. I feel like that could be a rule that they could change in the future, especially for Game 3, just giving us two timeouts instead of one because we both were gassed. Both of us playing three, four games in a row, I feel like in the final round, we should at least have two timeouts because those games weren’t easy. Every game was a battle.”
After a win over Boston, the 31-year-old guard said she is lucky not to have to guard her in the post in WNBA games, highlighting the tough matchup in the semifinal. And after that, giving tough competition in a final against a player of Chelsea Gray’s quality is certainly a very commendable job by the 2017 WNBA rookie.
