The WNBA Draft is just around the corner. And this year, the event is stacked with talent. With the likes of Azzi Fudd, Lauren Betts, Olivia Miles, Kiki Rice, and Flau’jae Johnson all set to make their debut, the excitement is on another level. However, there is one more player who has quietly raised her draft stock. And that is none other than Raven Johnson.
Playing for the South Carolina Gamecocks, Johnson has been splendid in her showing. And such an impressive performance has made Dawn Staley endorse her as a potential first-round pick. Despite fans not agreeing with the narrative, Staley hit back at Johnson’s haters. And now, Andraya Carter has some more good news for Johnson.

Andraya Carter Points Out Why Raven Johnson Will Be A Hot Favorite?
The South Carolina Gamecocks’ star has had a marvelous season this year. She has averaged 10.2 points, four rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. Back in February, Johnson had one of her best games of the season against LSU. She dropped 19 points, while shooting 60% from the range, to help her team to a dominating victory.
Recently, pondering upon the Gamecock’s stars’ WNBA Draft potential, Carter had a detailed analysis on ‘Watch FOX 57.’ She pointed out how a lot of WNBA General Managers have expressed interest in the young talent. And that can only mean one thing. Dawn Staley’s prediction might as well come true.
“I’ve talked to a lot of GMs. I think of one that I was on the phone with last week and this particular GM was like, man, I love Raven. And I’m like, yeah, how do you not love Raven? She’s a winner,” Carter said.

She further added, “She’s a winner and she’s grown so much offensively. I think it’s a testament to when a player grows offensively, you can trust their work ethic. She’s a leader.”
Carter also stressed how Johnson was already playing well. But this season, she has grown bigger and better and has impressed all the GMs. And for the ones still left unimpressed, here’s a detailed breakdown of how the 23-year-old star performed.
Raven Johnson Had A Stellar Season For The South Carolina Gamecocks
Staley has always pushed her players hard to help them flourish in the WNBA. But for Johnson, it all came naturally. While she averaged close to eight points per game, her performance blew up this season. The former Utah star has dropped more than one double-figure game. And her shooting, too, has been elite.
While on the floor, she has shot 50% and 38.9% from the three-point mark. Having such a high efficiency, Johnson is bound to have a lot of eyeballs on her. That’s because every team would need someone who can shoot consistently to bail the team out of tricky situations.
