The Chicago Sky fans saw two different types of performances in a single season. Angel Reese shone with her series of double-double stats in most games, while the die failed to match her on the court, handing them another abysmal season record in back-to-back seasons.
The player, though, had a terrific season individually off the court as well. From featuring on many reputable magazines covers to the NBA2K game’s cover, Reese even shared news of her signature shoe release. It was apparent that the city and fans showed love towards the player, making her emotional with their gesture.
Angel Reese Gets Emotional Seeing Her Giant Billboard In Chicago
Keeping the franchise record aside, the Sky fans and City had a massive billboard in Western Chicago. The billboard featured her NBA2K cover image and also her signature Reebok shoe. Finding out about the city’s gesture, the 2024 rookie shared the pic on her Instagram story and penned an emotional note.
She wrote, “NEVER TAKING THIS MOMENT FOR GRANTED, BUT SO GRATEFUL. HAVING A NBA2K COVER & MY 1ST EVER SIGNATURE SHOE ON THE COVER IN THE CITY I PLAY IN! WOW”.
The forward is leading the team in scoring and rebounding with an average of 14.6 points and 12.6 rebounds, respectively. Despite the team’s recent loss against the Seattle Storm, she was a bright spot on the court with 20 points and 10 rebounds. This was her 10th career, 20+ points and 10+ rebound games.

During the previous loss, HC Tyler Marsh praised the forward for her grit, and she delivered once again on the court. The Sky will now play against the Connecticut Sun on September 3. They are already behind the last season’s win percentage and need to win at least one more game from the remaining five games to cross the 10-win mark in the season.
Chicago Fans Love Angel Reese
This is not the first time the city and the fans showered love on their superstar forward. While inactive in the regular-season games due to a back injury, Reese participated in the ‘Back To School’ Initiative by her firm and handed over 2000 bags with school supplies.
The franchise shared interviews of those kids and their families who showered love on Chi-Town Barbie. Touched by their words and emotions, the former LSU player shared the video on her Instagram story and gave a heart emoji.
There is no doubt that the Sky fans love their superstar forward and the player is also returning love on (with her performance) and off the court.
