The Chicago Sky might have been officially eliminated from the WNBA playoffs. But playing in their remaining games, the team is giving out a strong message. With the likes of Angel Reese and others in blazing form, the Sky is looking to upset the dreams of many. For example, only the other day, Sky defeated the New York Liberty. And while Reese shone, she did it in front of her ex-coach, Teresa Weatherspoon.
The Sky triumphed over the Liberty 91-85. And a big chunk of the credit goes to Reese. Combining with Kamilla Cardoso, the duo accounted for 43 points. Meanwhile, as the team broke out in elation after the final buzzer, the 23-year-old star shared a heartfelt moment with her former coach.
Angel Reese Shares An Adorable Moment With Teresa Weatherspoon
Sky managed to rake up only their second win after June 12th. Naturally, Reese and others felt extremely elated to be part of the viceroy. However, while huddling with the team, Chi-town Barbie spotted someone very special looking from the stands. And it was none other than Teresa Weatherspoon.

Immediately, the 23-year-old star ran to Weatherspoon and shared a warm hug. As the duo reunited, the entire arena applauded and acknowledged the heartfelt moment. Now, for the uninitiated, Weatherspoon was the Chicago Sky’s head coach in the previous year.

However, following a 13-27 win-loss record, the management decided to part ways with the head coach and appoint Tyler Marsh as the new one. Interestingly, Weatherspoon is quite well acquainted with New York, too. She was a member of the Liberty outfit from 1997 to 2003. Currently, the Hall of Famer is coaching in Unrivaled. Meanwhile, Sky’s dismal run had a lot to do with Reese’s injury. And while most of the updates shared by the Chicago Sky were grim, Reese opened up about her injury struggles.

Angel Reese Expresses Her Eagerness To Come Back To The Court
The game against the New York Liberty showed a stark example of what the 23-year-old could have done if fully fit. Owing to a lingering back injury, Reese has been in and out of the lineup throughout the season. And that has been one of the main reasons why Sky has been eliminated from the playoff race. In a recent interview with Karli Bell, Reese spoke from her heart on how frustrating it is to sit back and watch her team falter. The Sky star also mentioned how badly she wanted to get back to hooping.

“I love basketball. Basketball’s what got me here,” she said. “Put all the bulls**t to the side, I wanna hoop. I always wanna hoop and I’m just happy to be back out here playing the game I love,” Reese said in the interview.
Surely, the Chicago Sky did miss the services of Angel Reese significantly. Now, aiming for a better result next season, the fans would want Chi-town Barbie to come out fit and all guns blazing.
