Who is Tyler Marsh?
Tyler Marsh is the current head coach of the Chicago Sky in the WNBA, appointed in November 2024. Before taking over as coach, Marsh was a key assistant and head of player development for the Las Vegas Aces, where he helped the team win back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023.

Early Coaching Career
Marsh began his coaching journey in the NBA G League, serving as an assistant and player development coach for teams like the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Iowa Energy, Bakersfield Jam, and Fort Wayne Mad Ants. He joined the Toronto Raptors as a player development coach and was part of their 2019 NBA Championship team. Marsh later moved to the Indiana Pacers before transitioning to the WNBA with the Aces.
WNBA Career
In November 2024, Marsh was officially named the head coach of the Chicago Sky, replacing Teresa Weatherspoon. His hire marked a strategic move by the Sky to rebuild around young stars like Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, leveraging Marsh’s championship experience and player development focus.
However, Marsh’s first WNBA season has had its challenges. The Sky struggled offensively and defensively, with early-season losses and criticism from fans. His coaching debut was marred by a particularly poor shooting game—one of the worst since 2018. A midseason low point involved Marsh being ejected after vehemently protesting a call during a loss—after which player Angel Reese helped restrain him.
