The CBA talks might take time to settle the ‘differences’ between WNBA and WNBPA, but the franchises can’t stand still at the moment. Just over two months are due for the new season to start, and all 15 franchises are already looking for the perfect combination on the court, from available free agency. Azura Stevens is one such top player who would be on many franchises’ wish list following her season with the LA Sparks and her current showing in the Unrivalled league.
Many analysts already saw Stevens as a perfect fit for the Indiana Fever in the upcoming season, with experienced star Natasha Howard’s unclear situation. Importantly, the Sparks’ star also dropped a major hint in a recent interaction with fans, which might excite the Fever fanbase.

Fans React To Azura Stevens’ Comment On Indiana Fever
The Indiana Fever showed great character in the 2025 season, but missed one key aspect of the offence – stretch four. This handicapped Stephanie White’s side under the rim, with powerful forwards from the Aces, Mercury and Atlanta able to manipulate the play with ease. If the Sparks’ versatile forward joins the mix, she would be a massive help for Aliyah Boston and an upgrade on Natasha Howard.
While fans were dreaming of the signing, Sevens dropped a subtle hint on social media. The player shared photos in the Hive BC jersey after her trade from Rose BC. A fan curiously asked, “So what do we think of Indy?” The 30-year-old responded with “nice lil city lowkey” comment. A fever ‘@itssfmog’ quickly made a suggestion saying, “more nice if you played in it lowkey”.

Fever made it clear last year they need a stretch 4. I would bet money either her, Alanna smith, or both end up on the fever this year

Interestingly, the former Wings forward interacted with Fever fans earlier, too and acknowledged that they really want her to be part of the franchise. She played with Lexie Hull at Rose BC and is now playing alongside Kelsey Mitchell at Hive BC.
Azura Stevens’ Attributes Suiting Indiana Fever Offense
Aliyah Boston is thriving alongside Kelsey Plum, who has already made the LA Sparks one of the top teams in the league. Though the team can’t make it to the playoffs, the LA Side was always a threat on the court for any opponent, with the Stevens-Plum-Dearica Hamby trio being consistent on the floor.

Now, replacing Plum’s playmaking with Caitlin Clark’s playmaking would take the former UConn star’s numbers to new highs. While Natasha Howard was a solid post player and defender, Stevens can add firepower with better shooting and midrange defense, giving the Fever a more versatile forward alongside Boston.
Apart from Natasha Howard, the Fever has uncertainty over Sophie Cunningham, Breanna Turner, and Damiris Dantas. The Front office might look into the CBA terms and commercials to accommodate Stevens in the lineup.
