The WNBA is all set to welcome its talented draft class, and leading from the front is current champion and MOP Azzi Fudd. The player had been instrumental over the last two seasons, raising her draft stock.
Former UConn star and WNBA Champion Diana Taurasi praised Fudd as the best pure shooter she has ever seen and a lock for the No. 1 pick. But what’s the secret of her effective and efficient plays? The player opened up about the same in a recent interview and had some advice for the young girls, too.

Azzi Fudd’s Advice To Young Girls For Basketball Skills Development
Throughout the NCAAW 2025-26 season, fans turned out for their princess and idolized her as the top player of the current crop. So a reporter asked her for advice to the young players.
Fudd had a straightforward and simple answer as she said, “I feel like a lot of times, people are so focused on workouts and specific moves and drills instead of just playing free, playing pickup, playing one-on-one and working on your game and your skills.”

Though the player is one of the top picks, the Wings’ coach’s recent interview casts doubt over her possible reunion with Paige Bueckers. And once again, coach Auriemma comes to the rescue.
Azzi Fudd Gets Warning From Coach Geno Auriemma
The 2025-26 NCAAW season now has just three games left, with the defending champions, UConn Huskies, looking to go back-to-back with two wins. But they will face a challenge from the three top sides from the other three regions, and coach Auriemma understands the importance of his senior guard’s performance in those games.
In the pregame press conference, Auriemma said, “If we win tomorrow and we win Sunday, Azzi will be crowned as one of the greatest of all-time. If we don’t win tomorrow and we don’t even get a chance to play on Sunday, she’s going to feel like that this was a disappointing year for her.”
