Last year, with Caitlin Clark injured, the WNBA needed a hero. Thankfully for the fans, the Dallas Wings star, Paige Bueckers, took on the mantle of sweeping the fans off their feet with some stellar performances. Having won the Rookie of the Year last year, she is once again raring to go in 2026. But with Bueckers making merry, her partner, Azzi Fudd, too, is not lagging behind by much.
Fudd is having a stellar run in her final year of college. Together with Sarah Strong, the UConn Huskies star made the 2026 Naismith Player Of The Year Late-Season Watchlist. And while many anticipate a possible reunion with Bueckers, the Huskies’ star has reflected on the team’s perfect season so far.

Azzi Fudd Gets Elated About UConn Huskies’ Stellar Run
The UConn Huskies faced off against St. John at Madison Square Garden in their recent game. As expected, putting up a cynical show, the Huskies won 85-49 to end a perfect night for their fans. Showing some significant dominance in the NCAA women’s basketball realm, this was the 47th consecutive victory for the team.
Apart from that, UConn also wrapped up yet another undefeated regular season with a 31-0 record. Reflecting on the same while discussing with Candace Parker, the 23-year-old spilled the secret sauce.
She said, “This year I feel like we’re more calm, confident, together!”

The 2025 champion is surely elated with her team’s performance. Together with Allie Ziebel (13 points), the 2025 NCAA Tournament MOP chipped in with 14 points to take the team home. This year’s 31-0 run equalled the fifth-longest winning streak in women’s Division 1 history. They equaled their predecessors’ run from 2013-15.
Meanwhile, as the WNBA bells are ringing for the 23-year-old star, the debates about her Dallas Wings inclusion are gaining significant traction.
Will Azzi Fudd End Up Joining The Dallas Wings?

Bueckers has already established herself as the mainstay for the Wings. All they now need is to build a solid team revolving around last year’s Rookie of the Year. And this is where Fudd comes into the picture. Most of the votes suggest that the 2025 First-team All-Big East might be the number 1 draft pick.
Looking at her form this year in the NCAA circuit, Fudd is spitting fire. Moreover, the real-life couple also has experience playing together in college. In fact, they also led the Huskies to the championship in 2025. Thus, it is evident that the chemistry between the two will not be an issue.
Now, with all signs pointing toward a dream union, fans must wait to see whether it finally becomes a reality.
