The UConn Huskies will be in action at the Dickies Arena in Texas to play their Sweet Sixteen game against the North Carolina Tar Heels. While in Texas, there are many basketball superstars, but right now the heartthrob of the region is Paige Bueckers, and the former UConn star took the opportunity to visit the team practice.
Although Coach Geno Auriemma gave Bueckers the “Dennis the Menace” label, she was with the coach the whole time, as Azzi Fudd mentioned, and doing her usual stuff. Yet the return of PB brought good vibes as the 22-year-old guard said in her heartwarming reaction.

Azzi Fudd Reacts To Paige Bueckers’ Sudden Visit To Practice
While the UConn Huskies are favorites to defend the title, Coach Auriemma used Buckner’s name to motivate players. Keeping aside the fun part of Auriemma’s assessment, the player certainly has a close bond with the coach and her team as she visited the practice ahead of their Sweet Sixteen matchup.
When the reporter asked Fudd about her reaction to the Wings’ star’s visit, she said, “It was really nice having her back. Felt like old times. She didn’t actually do anything cause they were playing defense, so she just sat next to coach and did her thing. Yapped the whole time. It was nice to see a familiar face, definitely good vibes, and lots of smiles when she walked in.”

This is not the first time PB has visited UConn training camp. Midway into the season, she attended the training camp with Shakira Austin and was also in the stands for the season opener of the UConn Huskies.

Interestingly, with her Wings having the top pick in the 2026 WNBA draft, Bueckers can reunite with Azzi Fudd, following the team’s selection of the sharpshooter.
Azzi Fudd Could Team Up With Paige Bueckers At WNBA
The recent WNBA mock draft hints at a reunion of UConn’s two architects of the 2025 championship. While Fudd could end up winning her second national championship, her joining the Wings would be a bigger impact on the franchise’s decisions.
Another former UConn star, Diana Taurasi, sees a mega powershift with the duo joining forces in Texas with PB’s playmaking and Fudd’s shooting. She even lauded their connection and said, “The synergy that she has with Paige on the court, they play great together.”

The first aim for Fudd would be to lift the NCAA championship, and then she would be aiming to repeat the magic for the Dallas Wings in the ‘W’.
