The Indiana Fever might have lost their players to the season-ending injuries, but it instead fueled them to perform better. The team’s five-game series against the eventual champions, the Las Vegas Aces, was a prime example of the team’s resilient plays throughout the series, and HC Becky Hammon made a huge revelation about the series.
Earlier, on the ‘Just Women’s Sports’ podcast, forward NaLyssa Smith admitted that the Fever series was the Aces’ biggest test. She mentioned that it actually prepared the Aces for the finals. The Aces’ HC also had the nicest words about Stephanie White’s team.
Becky Hammon Calls Semi-Final Series Against Indiana Fever Was Toughest One
The Indiana Fever lost Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Aari McDonald, Sydney Colson, and Chloe Bibby to season-ending injuries. Against the Aces, the side also played the final stretch without Aliyah Boston (foul trouble) and Kelse Mitchell (mid-game injury), and yet delivered a clinical performance to stretch the champions to overtime. Their performances impressed everyone, including the opposition coach Hammon.

Recently, she was on the ‘Post Moves’ podcast, where she talked about the toughest series she ever had. “Indiana actually was probably the hardest series I’ve been through,” Hammon said. ” And you know what? It’s funny, Aliyah [Boston], you’re sitting there, but it’s like, I was pissed after Game 5. I’m sure you were more pissed. But we’re going to the finals, but then I went back and watched it. CT calls me, Candace [Parker], at like 3 in the morning. She’s like, you still mad? And I was like, no. I’m like, Indiana just played their as** off.”
