After fighting out for the title in the 2025 season, WNBA franchises will be in action again for trades, free agent signings, and the draft. Interestingly, the situation in 2026 is very unique, with nearly every All-Star, champion and veteran entering the free agency market. The Indiana Fever rocked the 2025 free agent signings to support Caitlin Clark and will look to have a similar ‘pull’ this offseason.
As much as the delay in CBA confirmation is pushing the free agency signings, there are tensions among the fans over the possible departures of their stars. Clark was also honest about the Indiana Fever’s tough roster decisions. At the same time, she will be one of the advantages for the franchise in the free agency.
Caitlin Clark-Aliyah Boston Gives Indiana Fever Advantage In Free Agency
As for the Indiana Fever, two of their core players – CC and Aliyah Boston will still be under contract in the 2026 season, with promising forward Makayla Timpson also entering her second year of her rookie contract.
While in the 2024 off-season, a few critics claimed that ‘no one would want to play with Clark’, big-name signings by the Fever proved them wrong, and the front office will look to repeat its magic with the CC-AB connection at the center of their pitch.

Testimonies from veterans like Natasha Howard and Sydney Colson proved that the 2024 rookie is clearly a game-changer and yet a team player. Kelsey Mitchell even explained what she respected about Clark as the former Ohio State star also enters the free agency market.
In addition to Clark, the franchise holds a young forward pair – Aliyah Boston and Makayla Timpson – one who won a Rookie of the Year award and the other who demonstrated significant development in her first season. The trio of rookies provides the Fever front office with a great base to add veterans to.

Additionally, the team’s performance under Stephanie white had been very eye-catching and entertaining, enticing multiple free agents to sign with the team. Though the fans are willing to take back the whole 2025 squad, the Indiana side can be lethal with their choices of players, with the opportunity and right pieces at hand.
While the player recruitments and trade decisions will take some time, the Indiana Fever has already upgraded for the 2026 season, adding an elite coach, Rob Dosier, to the staff.

As the franchise made an official announcement, CC was the first to react and showed her excitement by sharing it on her Instagram story. Dosier’s expertise with back-court players would help the former Iowa star a lot.
Fan also loved the new appointment and will be excited for the new season and await news on player additions too, as soon as the WNBA and WNBPA agree on the new CBA.
