The NCAAW Final Four moves to Phoenix, with the top WNBA teams once again making it to the penultimate games of the tournament. While all eyes will be on those games, USA basketball also released its schedule and players’ names for the upcoming camp in Arizona. A’ja Wilson leads the 15-member list as Team USA chooses much different players from earlier camp members or even from those who played in the qualifying games.
The Team USA release also confirmed that just three players from the World Cup Qualifying Tournament, Monique Billings, Paige Bueckers, and Rae Burrell, will be part of the initial training camp roster.

Top Three WNBA Stars Missing From Team USA Training Camp
Following the performances of Team USA players, many fans were excited about the actual competition and were already claiming a ‘bright future’ for the national side. Incidentally, the transition is not much easier, and the USA basketball is already looking for the senior stars to stay ready for the competition in September.
The new list involves multiple champion players who won titles and gold medals for Team USA. There is a striking difference from the earlier training camps, where USA Basketball preferred the mix of youth and veterans for qualifying games.
See you VERY soon 🌵 Phoenix!

As for Reese and Clark, both players delivered top-notch performances in the qualifier games, with Clark even showcasing her two-way game in Puerto Rico. Reese also led all teams in rebounds and contributed heavily to the side. Their absence from the training camp might have a different ‘meaning’ than AB’s absence.
While the superstar trio is out of Team USA training camps, they are gearing up for the intense and much hyped 2026 WNBA season.
WNBA Season Ready For Mega Shake Up
Completing 29 seasons might be easier for the league than starting the 30th one after the feisty CBA discussion. But the players stuck together in the tough period as a Nobel Prize-Winning economist helped WNBA players secure 400% raise through strategic negotiation.
Now with two expansion teams, 100+ free agents, and a deep, talented 2026 draft class, 15 teams will have to balance their commercials under the new CBA and quality on the floor for the 2026 championship. Considering the first season with the new CBA implementation, it might be a crazy and interesting one, as well as the most unpredictable one for the fans.
