The Indiana Fever fought till the last breath in the playoffs against the Las Vegas Aces. Kelsey Mitchell recently revealed struggling with Rhabdomyolysis, which actually happens when the player’s overworked muscles break down and release contents into the bloodstream. Lexie Hull was another such star who struggled with a back injury yet delivered on the court. Caitlin Clark praised both her teammates.
For Mitchell, Clark was spontaneous as she shared ‘unreal Kelz’ reactions on social media multiple times, and for the former Stanford player, the 2024 rookie went to a whole other level.
Caitlin Clark Awestruck By Lexie Hull
The Indiana Fever were underdogs in every playoff series they played in, yet they still outplayed their opponents, thanks to their resilient players. While everyone had their own way of showing resilience, Hull was a standout player who played through injury during the regular season and playoffs.

The ‘black-eye Lexie’ during the regular season went viral, where fans hyped up the Fever forward, and in the playoffs, she played through a back injury, and clocked the highest minutes (33.5 minutes) for the side. During an exit interview, Clark praised her teammate for her efforts despite playing time.
“Every team in this league should want a Lexi Hull-type of player on their team. That’s just never once has I have I seen her be disappointed in the amount she played. And I was here at the beginning of last year when she was getting DNPs and she’s the was the exact same person as she is right now as you know probably she turned into our third option offensively because you know we lost so many players but also like she embraced that and she worked for that,“ Clark said recalling the 2024 Hull who helped the side reach playoffs.

Lexie Hull Will Be A Free Agent In The 2026 Off-Season
The 25-year-old versatile player put the league on alert with her gameplay in the 2025 season. In the playoffs, Aliyah Boston and Hull put the Fever team in the semifinal with clutch plays and played a vital role in the series against the Aces. Stephanie White lauded Hull’s tough kid mentality that kept her going in the series, and sadly, it could be the last time she will play for the Fever team.
Signed in 2022 on the rookie contract, the Fever forward will be a restricted free agent for the upcoming season. According to GM Cox’s statements, the team prioritizes re-signing Mitchell, which will likely involve a supermax contract offer for the veteran guard, leaving the team with limited resources to fill the rest of the roster.
The new CBA deal, salary cap value, and availability of rookies next season would determine the plan for Hull’s future. But it will be difficult to see her in a different jersey and defending against a Fever player.
