The New York Liberty destroyed the Indiana Fever at home. The side desperately needed their instrumental playmaker, Caitlin Clark, as they struggled offensively against the defending champions. Fans are also waiting for CC’s return, which brings excitement and entertainment to the game.
In a recent interview with Glamour, the Fever guard touched on many topics, including her injury. The player has been out for 12 games now, and her statements on the matter will break many hearts.
Confession That Caitlin Clark Made Raises Concerns
Indiana Fever drafted the Iowa star as the first overall pick in the 2025 WNBA draft. The idea was to build around ‘generational talent’ and win titles with the most followed athlete on the roster. The dream was half achieved, as the side managed to reach the playoffs last season.
Fans eagerly awaited the second season after the positive signs in the guard’s rookie season. Unfortunately, the 2024 Rookie of the Year could play in 12 games, only missing the same amount due to injury. Talking about it in the interview, CC highlighted what she felt was different.
“This is the first time I haven’t felt like a young body that can run around and sprint every day and continue to do that. Being a professional athlete, you really have to take care of both your body and your mind—it’s been a journey learning about that,” Clark told the interviewer.
The star playmaker also mentioned how she takes help from the team’s sports psychiatrist to overcome the difficult times during the injury. She highlighted that the talks are rarely related to basketball but about other things in life.

As per CC, balancing mental health to recover quickly and return to the court 100% is important.
Indiana Fever Struggles Without Caitlin Clark
Fans have already seen CC’s impact on her teams. She pushed the low-key Iowa team to the NCAA finals in back-to-back seasons. The Indiana franchise also hoped for the same, and the rookie delivered in her first season. Though they added some former champions and impactful players to the roster, the team failed to meet expectations.

They lost two games against the Liberty and Sparks. The bottom-placed Connecticut Sun also recorded a win over the CC-less Fever side, raising questions about their ability to cope without the star.
Aliyah Boston and Sophie Cunningham also accepted how the opposition team’s game changed without the team’s leading assist maker. The coach asked for consistency in the difficult times and hoped that her superstar would be back on the court sooner.
