When it comes to consistency and delivering performances, Caitlin Clark has been at her best in the last five years. She played 185 games through four collegiate years and her rookie season in ‘W’, weaving her magic and winning games for her team. But her sophomore season has been very different.
In the game against the Connecticut Sun, the Fever guard had to exit early, holding her right leg. The pain was visible, and tears in her eyes said it all. While many were concerned about the status of her injury, her brother, Collin Clark, bashed at poor officiating for CC’s injury.
Caitlin Clark’s Brother Hints At Poor Referee Decisions
Fans can recall the Indiana Fever’s last game against the Connecticut Sun. The physical gameplay was at its peak, with the former Iowa star facing many ‘illegal defensive’ plays by the opponents. The game had many technical fouls. The game on July 15 was no different, with the Indiana playmaker constantly hand-checked and held by the defenders.
With 0:39 left on the clock in the first quarter, the 2024 Rookie of the Year winner felt pain in her right leg. It prompted HC Stephanie White to take a timeout to let her out of the game. Concerned Aliyah Boston walked her to the bench as she sat in distress. Additionally, her brother took a jibe at the officiating, calling it the real reason for the injury.
“make no mistake, this on reffing,” he wrote on his official’ X’ (formerly Twitter).
The poor refereeing has been a hot topic in the league, with many coaches, including White, openly criticizing the officiating. They demanded parity in decisions and have control over the physicality. In a previous encounter between two teams, Sophie Cunningham also bashed on referring after committing a hard foul late in the game.

Fever HC Provides Update On Caitlin Clark Injury
The damage has been done, though. Fans will have to wait for updates on the injury. HC Stephanie White provided the status in a post-game interview.
“No update. Just felt a little something in her groin, so we’ll get it evaluated and see what happens from there,” White told the press (via X/@chloepeterson67).
She even added that the side has played without CC in the past this season and will have to focus on the next game, against the New York Liberty. The evolution will take place on Wednesday, depending on the severity of the injury.
