It has been a roller-coaster ride for Caitlin Clark this season. From being the most consistent performer to missing half a season, the guard struggles to find her rhythm on the court. The current updates suggest that the star will miss the upcoming game against the New York Liberty at the Barclays Center, making it even harder for the travelling team.
But the team is not down and wants to stay strong without its playmaker. One of her Indiana Fever teammates recently expressed her views on the team’s strategy moving forward.
Aliyah Boston Shades Light On Team’s Offense Without Caitlin Clark
While the Fever is still in the mix, Aliyah Boston recently opened up about Indiana’s gameplan for the road games ahead. She mentioned that the side would love to have the 2024 Rookie of the Year active on the court. The opposition plays differently with the star guard taking charge of the offense.
Her other teammates were confident about the win and called everyone to step up their game to compensate for the absence of CC. Boston had other ideas, though. She pointed out how the offense would work without their elite playmaker.
“I think it changes our offense a little bit, where some teams are going to be a little more back, depending on matchups on the floor. I think we space the floor really well. Everything changes when we hit shots. I think if we come out and start this next game, hit some shots to open up the floor a lot, and obviously Caitlin’s a fantastic passer, but I think if we figure out, once again, different ways to get everyone that needs to touch the ball, and when and where. So we just continue to trust our offense and let it flow,” Boston said (via IndyStar).

In the absence of their regular point guard, Stephanie White will once again field Aari McDonald to match Sandy Brondello’s side’s pace. The return of Jonquel Jones could cause issues in the frontcourt for Natasha Howard and Aliyah Boston.

Caitlin Clark Shines Against New York Liberty in 2025
The Iowa star is not shy of the spotlight. She performed better against the tough opponents, making her a unique player in the league. NY Liberty is one of the top sides in the league, and their matchups against the CC and co were eye-catching.
The superstar guard did not feature in the recent loss against the 2024 champs. And in the remaining two games, she was the top performer. During the Commissioner’s Cup run, the 23-year-old guard returned from injury and scored 32 points in a 102-88 blowout win at home. She also had nine assists and eight rebounds, flirting with a triple-double against the leaders at the time. Interestingly, it was Liberty’s first loss of the season.

The loss at the start of the season was a significant setback. No foul was called on CC’s game-winning three-point attempt. It angered many analysts and fans who raised questions over the officiating once again. The 2012 champs lost the game 90-88, and the superstar guard had a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists.
The side will surely miss the Clark magic in the game against Sabrina Ionescu and co., but if they repeat the Commissioner’s Cup performance on July 22, it will be an encouraging victory for the side as well.
