It was devastating for Cameron Brink in just a matter of two months. Drafted as the second overall pick in April, the star suffered a season-ending ACL and meniscus injury in her left knee on June 18, 2024. The joy of playing in ‘W’ lasted for just 15 games as she underwent a painful recovery process.
But the devotion and hard work are now paying off. Keeping away from the hoops for over a year, there have been very encouraging videos and photos of the star progressing in her rehab. The recent video nearly confirms her return to the league sooner.
Encouraging Signs For Cameron Brink’s Return
The Los Angeles Sparks showed faith in the Stanford forward, choosing her as their top pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. Even after the injury, the franchise didn’t push for a quick return but allowed the star to recover completely. Her recovery process includes physical therapy, strength training, and gradually increasing her activity level.
This was done considering long-term plans for their possible centerpiece. But now the wait is nearly over. In a recent video, she was seen working on her left leg, the injured side. She already played in team training, indicating her possible early return.
The superstar forward emphasized the importance of a positive mindset during her recovery, taking it daily and focusing on her overall well-being. Before the injury, the 23-year-old star averaged 7.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. The defensive powerhouse racked up her stats with two blocks and one steal in a game. Her return could fuel the Sparks’ push for the postseason.
Kelsey Plum-Cameron Brink Could Be Winning Combination For The Sparks
The three-time WNBA champions missed the postseason for two seasons in a row. The addition of Kelsey Plum gave them a championship-experienced and powerful guard in the lineup. With Brink out of the equation until now, the side managed an 8-14 record in 2025, good enough for a 10th-place finish.

While the franchise’s coach hinted at their star forward’s return, everyone was waiting for her link-up play with KP. Even if the forward takes time to adjust to the offensive side, she is strong defensively and could be a massive boost for the fragile LA side. Including the 6-foot-4 forward will allow Dearica Hamby to play more aggressively on the offensive end.
With 22 games left, the side will push for an eighth-place finish this season to ensure a playoff spot.
